What this means for wealth firms

Our interpretation: the opportunity starts before the shares are sold.

For individual IPO sellers: the sale creates a reason to discuss diversification and allocating the proceeds. The filings identify a liquidity event, but not how much money remains available or who already advises them.
For employee option holders: the starting point may be help with exercise costs, tax planning and exposure to their employer’s shares. An investment mandate could come later.
For institutional sellers: fund and parent-company proceeds belong in a separate category. They should not be counted as personal wealth available for an adviser to manage.

For a wealth firm, the useful distinction is who has already sold and who may need advice before selling. The filings provide a starting list; current holdings, timing and needs still require confirmation.

The IPO filings identify people and institutions with sale proceeds or potential wealth. A second question for wealth businesses is how investment behaviour is changing across the wider market. Overseas investment remittances offer one signal.

2. The purpose of money sent abroad is changing: investment's share rose from 6.6% to 11.5% while the total barely grew.

Investment took 14.3% of overseas remittances, up from 7.2%

April–July 2025 vs April–July 2026

In April–July 2026, investment remittances more than doubled from a year earlier, reaching $1.40 billion. They accounted for roughly one in seven dollars sent abroad, up from one in fourteen.

Indian funds investing overseas also attracted money: overseas fund-of-funds recorded ₹7,371 crore in net inflows over August 2025–July 2026, compared with ₹754 crore in net outflows a year earlier.

What this means for a wealth business

Our interpretation: this is a reason to examine how well an overseas offering serves investment needs—from choosing investments to execution, reporting and ongoing advice.

The commercial question is where clients need help and what they would pay for. The figures establish that more money is going into overseas investments; they do not establish more customers, larger individual tickets or an unmet need for advice.
